Dear Clients,

As we approach the end of the year, we’d like to update you on the transition to eVisas and provide key information for travellers during the holiday season.

Yesterday, the Minister for Migration and Citizenship, Seema Malhotra MP, announced updates regarding eVisas. Here are some key points:

  • Over 3.1 million individuals successfully transitioned to eVisas between March and November 2024. However, many BRPs will expire on 31 December 2024. We encourage those who haven’t transitioned yet to visit GOV.UK eVisa guidance to complete the process.

  • Temporary measures allow carriers to accept BRPs or EUSS BRCs expiring after 31 December 2024 as evidence of travel permission until at least 31 March 2025, ensuring smoother transitions.

  • Travellers should check their eVisa details, including passport information, at their UKVI account. Share codes, valid for 90 days, can also be generated for travel.

We are committed to supporting you during this transition and ensuring compliance with the new system. Please share this information widely with colleagues and stakeholders. Additional resources, including the eVisa Partner Pack, are available here.

Best regards,

Law Wise Solicitors
